Beginning Gardening workshops for Youth and Families

Thinking about starting a garden but have a black thumb? Want to encourage an interest in gardening with your children? Kids sessions on how to start a garden will be offered with this Beginning Gardening Series. These workshops are designed to interest kids in gardening, but will offer some basic information for beginning parent gardeners as well. The workshops are targeted for 5-12 year olds. We will offer some hands-on activities, some fun instruction, and support. We will offer lots of ideas on neat things you can do at home with plants.
Initial Dates are:

Beginning Gardening Kick-Off; The Wonders of Plants
Saturday, April 24, 10:00-11:30; Viva La Veggies! Pumpkin Project and more
Saturday, May 15, Flower Power: Start Your Sunflowers

The workshops are slated to meet at the Agricultural Conference Center, but please call to get on the registration list in case the location changes.
